Essential Supplies Reach Remote Moala Clinic

Save Our Supplies proudly collaborated with PIANGO Pacific 2030 in 2025 to support the Moala District Council of Social Services strengthen health systems and equip healthcare workers in remote Fiji with essential supplies.

Moala District Council of Social Services representative Usaia Moli says the supplies will directly benefit Moala Medics, one of 54 community-based organisations under the Council.

The delivery included 30 boxes of mini-surgical kits, 10 portable defibrillators, hospital beds and wheelchair. Guided by the priorities of local health authorities, the donation was made in partnership with community leaders and health practitioners in the region, ensuring that the items delivered directly matched local priorities and real clinical needs.

This collaboration reflects our commitment to locally-led engagement and contextually appropriate, sustainable healthcare solutions. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, SOS works closely with receiving facilities to understand their operating environment, resource gaps, and long-term goals. This ensures that every donation strengthens existing systems and supports health workers to deliver care with confidence.

In geographically isolated districts, access to basic supplies can be severely limited due to transport challenges, high costs, and irregular procurement channels. These barriers compromise continuity of care and place additional pressure on frontline staff. By redirecting high-quality, unused medical supplies from Queensland hospitals to where they are needed most, SOS helps bridge this gap—equipping health workers with the essential tools they need to serve their communities safely and consistently.
